"GREEN OAKS MOBILE HOME PARK"

Owned by

"MARINELAND OF CANADA"

If you visit Marineland of Canada website, and then click on "A Message From the Owner" you can read the following:
Marineland staff members and I consider each Marineland animal resident a member of the family. I will spare no expense when it comes to the health and well being of the animals in my care.
The 47 families at Green Oaks find this hard to believe? What do you think?

John Holer admits in 2007 that he has many acres in the park to develop, but yet he claims
he has no alternative but to evict 47 families from their homes for expansion??????"

I've been working on the project for the past two years," said Holer, who founded Marineland in 1961.
"It's part of our continuing expansion, and we have plenty of acres remaining in the park for much more."
Less than half of Marineland's 1,000 acres has been developed into tourist attractions, he said.

BUT YET HE CLAIMS HE NEEDS TO TAKE OUT 47 FAMILIES ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO MARINELAND. HE CLAIMS HE HAS NO OTHER CHOICE AND NEEDS OUR APPROXIMATELY 6 MEASLEY ACRES WHEN HE HAS THAT MANY ACRES NOT YET DEVELOPED????????????

Why Can't You Just Move Your Home? - They are Mobile Homes

Altough anything is possible and in theory this would make sense. There are numorous reasons why it is just not practical.

If you check out the pictures of our homes on the "HomeOwners" link you will see that these homes have been here for such a long time.

They were never meant to be moved to another location. If you follow these links you will see that they all state that these homes are a "Permanent Residence" and are not meant to be re-located.

Also, according to "MPAC - Structure Valuation"

An oversize permit is required for road travel from the Ministry of Transportation because one of the following legal limits have been exceeded:

  • Length exceeds 41 feet;
  • Width exceeds 8 feet, 6 inches;
  • Height exceeds 13 feet, 6 inches; or
  • Weight exceeds 140,000 pounds.
  • The unit has permanent connections for services such as water, electrical and waste disposal.
  • The tongue and/or under carriage have been removed.
  • The unit has been placed on a supporting foundation.

The following also apply:

  • They can not be moved with a pickup truck, you need to hire a mover.
  • The average size of them are 12'0" X 68'0" or 14'0" X 70'0" with additions and decks.
  • They require a special permit to move down the road (oversize load).
  • In most cases they have foundations or skirting around them and are meant to be permanent
  • There are NO trailer parks, mobile home parks, etc. That will take them.
  • The cost to hire a mover to re-locate these homes if there was a place to move them would be from $8000 - $15,000.
  • The Cities or Municipalities will not allow you to purchase land and set these up on your land.
  • There is NO existing Mobile Home Park that will allow you to move your trailer unless it is within 10 years old.
  • All Mobile Home Parks are zoned up to a certain amount of homes allowed. They do not have the zoning to add many more homes.

Each and every one of them once it is moved, the home will never be the same. These are not meant to be moved or mobile.

So even if we wanted to move our homes, there is NO PLACE TO MOVE THEM!!!!!

It would be like taking your home and saying this weekend we are going to move it to another location?
